Purpose of the Event
Through this writing competition, we hope to encourage children and young people to express their creativity, thoughts, and emotions through written Cantonese—to write from the heart and cultivate a new generation of Cantonese writers.
We also hope that this event will help promote Cantonese creative writing and deepen public understanding of written Cantonese. After the submission period, selected outstanding works will be edited, annotated with Jyutping romanization, and compiled into a publication. Our goal is to provide more learning resources for the public to support the study of Cantonese language and written Cantonese.
The objectives of this event are to:
- Encourage the younger generation of children and youth to write in Cantonese
- Collect and showcase more outstanding written Cantonese works
- Promote the culture of written Cantonese writing
活動目的
我哋希望透過呢個徵文活動，鼓勵兒童青少年我手寫我心，用粵文表達自己嘅創意、思想同埋情感，培養新一代粵文作家。我哋亦希望通過呢次活動，推廣粵文創作，加深大眾對粵文嘅認識。文章徵集以後，我哋會將其中優秀嘅作品加以編輯，附以粵拼，匯集成書，期望能夠籍此為大眾提供更多幫助學習粵語、粵文嘅文章。

- 鼓勵新一代兒童青少年以粵文寫作

參賽須知
Categories
There is no minimum word count requirement for this writing competition. Participants will be divided into three age groups, with the following maximum word limits:
- Ages 5–9: Up to 300 words
- Ages 10–14: Up to 500 words
- Ages 15–18: Up to 800 words
組別
今次徵文活動無字數要求下限，我哋將根據參加者年齡分為三組，組別及字數要求上限如下:
- 5-9歲 : 300字以內
- 10-14歲 : 500字以內
- 15-18歲 : 800字以內
Submission Requirements
We encourage participants to express their thoughts and creativity through written Cantonese, showcasing the unique charm of Cantonese writing.
There are no restrictions on themes or writing genres for this competition. Participants are free to choose their own writing style, topic, and title.
However, all submissions must be original works written in Cantonese. Translated works will not be accepted. Through this competition, we hope to give young writers the opportunity to explore the richness of Cantonese writing and to share their voices with the wider community.

我哋鼓勵參加者用粵文表達自己嘅想法同創意,展現粵文寫作嘅獨特魅力。
今次徵文並無題材及體裁嘅限制，參加者可自行決定創作嘅文體,自選主題，自訂題目。
但徵文活動要求所有作品必須係原創粵文作品，唔接受任何翻譯創作。我哋希望可以透過呢次活動，俾年輕作家探索粵文寫作嘅豐富性，並同大眾一齊聆聽佢哋嘅心聲。

Does the submission have to be handwritten, or must it be typed?
We only accept submissions through the electronic form, and entries must be submitted as a DOC document file. If a participant can only write their work by hand, a parent or teacher may help type the content into an electronic document for submission

Participants may use voice input tools, TypeDuck, or Cantonese Fonts and other Cantonese Chinese input software to type in Chinese. These tools are designed specifically for writing Cantonese and can help participants enter accurate written Cantonese more easily.

We accept submissions written in either Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. Final selected works will be published in Traditional Chinese.

我哋繁體或簡體漢字嘅稿件都會收,最後作品會以繁體字刊登。

How will the judging panel evaluate the submissions?
All entries will be evaluated by the judging panel based on criteria such as content, language proficiency, creativity, and overall presentation. The decisions of the judging panel are final, and all participants are expected to respect the results. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide individual feedback or comments on submissions.

所有參加作品將由評審團根據內容、語言能力、創意及整體表現等標準進行評

We are grateful for the enthusiastic support received during last year’s Writing from the Heart event. The participation of young writers, families, and schools showed that Cantonese creative writing continues to have strong meaning within our community. The quality and sincerity of the submissions exceeded our expectations, and the event demonstrated how language, culture, and storytelling can bring people together across different places and generations.

Global Kids
港講廣
We are a group of educators from Hong Kong, UK, Canada and Australia. Greatly interested in promoting Cantonese as our heritage language, we teach kids from age 2 to adults with the emphasis on Hong Kong culture, values and belief of ethnic Chinese as well as cultural difference awareness between the East and the West. We use games, drama and board games to teach our regular Cantonese classes, GCSE Chinese classes and Cantonese for Beginners classes. We are particularly strong in motivation: to learn Chinese in an non-Chinese language environment.
我哋嘅團隊由全球包括香港、英國、 加拿大同澳洲教育界人士組成， 致力用廣東話教授兩
