We are grateful for the enthusiastic support received during last year’s Writing from the Heart event. The participation of young writers, families, and schools showed that Cantonese creative writing continues to have strong meaning within our community. The quality and sincerity of the submissions exceeded our expectations, and the event demonstrated how language, culture, and storytelling can bring people together across different places and generations.
We sincerely thank everyone who took part and helped make the first year of this initiative a meaningful and encouraging beginning.

Dr. Hugo Lai
黎智豐博士
Hugo obtained Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, specializing in ancient literature from the pre-Qin period. He has taught Chinese language courses at multiple universities and has worked in research positions in Taiwan and Belgium.
香港中文大學中國語言 及 文學哲學博士，專門研究先秦時期嘅古代文獻，曾於多間大專院校任教中國語文課程，先後臺灣、 比利時任職研究工作。
Dr. Chaak Ming Lau
劉擇明博士
Prof Lau is a linguist from Hong Kong, Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages at The Education University of Hong Kong. He is the founder of 粵典 (jyut6 din2), engaged in linguistics and digital humanities research.
香港語言學學者，現任香港教育大學語言學及現代語言系助理教授。《粵典》創辦人，從事語言學及數碼人文研究。
Ms. Stella Tse
謝傲霜女士
Ms Tse is a Hong Kong writer and screen-writer. Former editor for newspapers and publishing houses, and a frequent invitee as a judge for different literature awards.Her written works include the film script《中英街一號》No. 1 Chung Ying Street, which won Best Film at the 2018 Osaka Asian Film Festival. Other works include《愛情廢話》Love Nonsense, 《香港情書》Hong Kong Love Letters, and《多謝你背叛了我》Thank You for Betraying Me.
香港作家、 編劇，曾任多年報館及出版社編輯，及擔任唔同文學獎項嘅評審。編著作品有電影劇本《中英街一號》，獲 2018年大阪亞洲電影節最優秀作品獎。 其餘著作包括《愛情廢話》、《香港情書》、 《多謝你背叛了我》等。

Ednovate C.I.C is a registered charity in England. We area network built upon the combined expertise of educators and researchers with roots in both Hong Kong and the UK. It operates as an independent non-profit organisation With former executive members of Hong Kong teachers’ unions among its ranks, the network leverages a vast community of teachers, youth workers and parents from HongKong. Collaborating closely with local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) and city councils, we are dedicated to delivering support for the diaspora, with a particular focus on teachers and pupils from Hong Kong.

Yuto Books is an online Chinese children’s bookstore based in British Columbia, Canada. Founded by two moms from Hong Kong who grew up in BC, we are raising our own multilingual kids and understand the challenges of maintaining Cantonese abroad. We curate quality Chinese books—from picture books to bridge books—and carry independently published Cantonese titles with Jyutping to support creators promoting Cantonese literacy. Our mission is to make learning in Chinese, especially Cantonese, more accessible for families across North America.

Global Kids

We are a group of educators from Hong Kong, UK, Canada and Australia. Greatly interested in promoting Cantonese as our heritage language, we teach kids from age 2 to adults with the emphasis on Hong Kong culture, values and belief of ethnic Chinese as well as cultural difference awareness between the East and the West. We use games, drama and board games to teach our regular Cantonese classes, GCSE Chinese classes and Cantonese for Beginners classes. We are particularly strong in motivation: to learn Chinese in an non-Chinese language environment.
我哋嘅團隊由全球包括香港、英國、 加拿大同澳洲教育界人士組成， 致力用廣東話教授兩
歲以上嘅海外細蚊仔／細佬哥以及成年人士學中文， 傳揚香港精神、 中華文化與當地文化知識與對照。課程包括廣東話中文班、 GCSE 中文班及 Cantonese for Beginners 班。我哋個個身懷絕技， 唔單止有多年教學經驗， 更加擅於運用遊戲、 桌遊、 電影、 音樂等有趣手法，配合海外語言環境下聽、 說、 讀等特定嘅需要，特別強調提升學生們喺英語環境下學習中文嘅動機。。
