Short Stories
Short story is a way to tell a fun tale with different characters and exciting events that take you into a new world. Novels help show what the characters are like and what happens to them, while also describing the world around them. The cartoons and stories we enjoy can also be turned into novels. Novels can be long or short, and here is an example of a short story:
Example:
“The Three Little Pigs“
Once upon a time, there were three little pigs. The three brothers decided to move out and build houses of their own.
The eldest pig was the laziest. When he saw some straw, he said, “For building a house, straw is the easiest! I can finish it quickly and go take a nap.” So, he quickly built a house of straw.
The second pig was a little more hardworking. He took some wooden sticks and built a wooden house. Proudly, he said, “Wood is sturdier, and I finished it in two days. It wasn’t too hard, pretty good!”
The youngest pig was the most diligent. He said, “A house needs to be strong and safe! Safety is the most important, so I’ll use bricks and build slowly.” He worked for a whole week and finally built a solid brick house.
One day, a hungry big bad wolf from the nearby village came by. He saw the straw house and knocked on the door, shouting, “Open up! If you don’t, I’ll blow your house down!” The eldest pig was so scared he trembled and replied, “No, no, don’t open it!” The wolf took a deep breath and blew with all his might: “Whoo—!” The straw house immediately fell apart. The eldest pig ran
crying to his second brother’s house, “The big bad wolf is here! Quick, open the door!”
The second pig comforted him, saying, “Don’t worry, don’t worry! My wooden house is strong, it won’t blow down!” But the wolf knocked hard on the door and shouted, “Open up! If you don’t, I’ll blow your house down!” The wolf took two deep breaths and blew hard twice: “Whoo—! Whoo—!” The wooden house collapsed as well. The two brothers ran in panic to the youngest pig’s brick house.
When the youngest pig saw his brothers, before he could speak, the wolf had already reached the door. “Open up! If you don’t, I’ll blow your house down!” The wolf took three deep breaths and blew three times: “Whoo—! Whoo—! Whoo—!” But the brick house didn’t move an inch!
The wolf, both angry and tired, collapsed on the ground to catch his breath. Then he looked at the roof and smiled, saying, “Ha ha, I can climb down the chimney!” But the youngest pig had already figured out the wolf’s plan. He secretly installed a giant fan under the chimney. As the limbed closer, the pig quickly turned on the fan. “Whoo—!” The wolf screamed as the strong wind blew him far away, and he crashed right back into his own house!
After this event, the eldest and second pigs learned their lesson and realized that they shouldn’t take shortcuts. From then on, the three brothers each built sturdy brick houses, and each house had a big fan installed, so they no longer had to fear the big bad wolf!
